For the first time in the history of Calamus SL it is possible now to load Calamus documents from newer versions into older Calami. The new MGI Document Down Converter realizes this.
The converter requires Calamus SL96, 95 or 94. You can load the according document down converter in one of these Calami like a normal module. After installing the converter module you can load e.g. SL98 documents into SL96 and re-save them as SL96 documents. Or even load your latest SL98 documents in the old-fashioned SL94 for further editing.
If you used the new features which are available only in SL98 (like grid raster text rulers), these features are lost of course. – The most important usage of this new Document Down Converter will probably be to load SL98 documents in Calamus for Windows 95. As you know, SL98 documents cannot be loaded directly in Calamus for Windows 95. So it became a problem for some users to decide using the new SL98 features, because there was no way back to SL96 and Win95 Calamus until now.
