We are proud to present you the current feature list of MGI Calamus SL99 right now. The SL99 release is scheduled for April 1999.
Shipment features
The SL99 comes with the following basically new SL features:
Type 1 Fontloader
Save your fonts in (!) the document (No more searching for fonts when reloading documents)
Panels in real windows now (more comfortable handling for panels copy and close actions)
No Calamus Desktop (no ugly grey background any longer)
New work style: Double clicks in windows can be defined for actions
Import mechanism simplified (no more preselection of drivers)
The 'Create Frame' mode is no longer default mode
Preview in File Selector dialog (CFN etc.)

We are planning an optional bundling with the new universal printer driver for MagicMac, to be made by adequate systems. (The relevant products mentioned above will be taken from the invers Software price list, of course.)

Images can be decompressed with 'Fix Documents'.
Help text color is adjustable.
Top line: Page navigation arrows disabled on last/first page.
Select all is available for modules now.
Import' and 'Export' is available for modules now.
Help text output is available for modules now.
Dialog handling: Double clicks can be simulated by [Alt]+[Space].
The size of a document and free memory on target media are checked before saving.
The size of the current document is shown in bytes on the 'Statistics' dialog.
The document window title now shows the total number of pages (e.g. page 3/7).
An alert box warns, if there are still data in the clip board when quitting Calamus.
An alert box warns, if you did not select all available colors for separated output.
An alert box warns, if frames are being moved from the clip board to active text frames as anchors.
A vertical help line is shown when moving tabs in text rulers.
Bugfixing:
Bug in recalculation of frame cache fixed (wrong screen output after change of zoom size.
Page handling: After change of page mode (single, double sided documents) the document structure could be damaged when merging documents, deleting pages, changing page format etc.
Background behind the 'Printing ...' info dialog is restored immediately now.
MagiC bug with max. file name length fixed.
Frame editor no longer produces garbage segments in multi selection.
Empty folders sometimes only offered 8+3 file editing in the file selector.
The edit cursor can be placed between characters in edit fields of dialogs again.
Mouse form of Text Ruler mode (+) sometimes remained even over other windows (e.g. top line).
Mask groups, which have been switched invisible, were not printed, when 'All' frame types was selected in the according printing dialog's alert box (rather than 'Visible').
An error in the font management caused damaged font lists sometimes. Thus some text styles got wrong font names. This happened mainly when replacing fonts and merging documents.
Internal treatment of window titles was buggy ('garbaged' window titles sometimes).
The Printing feature 'Black overprint' will be kept in SL99 after long discussions with developers and users, but we will warn against this badly implemented feature in the manual addendum of SL99.
Due to the marketing of SL99 the following products will no longer be supported nor shipped, as of 01, 1999:

Prices
The upgrade price from SL98 to SL99 is 199 DM (incl. 16 % German tax) retail price. The upgrade from other versions of Calamus to SL99 is 399 DM (incl. 16 % German tax) retail price. The upgrade price for SL99 becomes valid after release of SL99.
Crossgrades
Many computer users asked us for the possibility of Crossgrades from other programs to Calamus SL. We decided to allow any regular publishing software as crossgrade choice, with the original disk's/CD's and manuals to be sent to our address. This means:
