Calamus is not only a professional typesetting and layout system, but thanks to Calipso 3 much more compatible than many others. This is because you can import PDF documents with Calipso 3, the PDF Import module for Calamus, into Calamus and edit it as a Calamus document then. Images are imported in fine data resolution, not as preview! Vector graphics are WYSIWYG vector graphics, texts are shown as vector texts which avoids the feared wrapping errors due to wrong fonts right from the beginning.

Calipso 3 uses a single function group right now where you find all functions for comfortable importing of PDFs.  These three switches on top of the function group define whether distinct PDF elements (text, images, vector graphics) should be imported or not.  Click on the PDF Import icon to analyse any PDF document and import it as a new Calamus document. |
