2001-08-29: PDF-Print available!

Michael Kammerlander spent another 3 days . . .  and created PDF Print as a new printer driver in addition to Bridge 5 for Calamus SL. PDF-Print combines the advantages of SoftRIP output with the popular PDF file format which is in use with more print shops than ever before.

PDF-Print generates print output to PDF files. The result is a printable PDF which no longer contains vector objects or searchable text parts, but smooth document pages (even rasterized in monochrome output format). So you really get what you see: All Calamus features like various mask methods, transparencies, arrow forms etc. are kept.

PDF Print hoffers the following advantages, compared with the (object oriented) PDF output from Bridge 5:

• PDF-Print supports real separated CMYK output.
• Printing tiles require less memory.
• Calamus raster frequencies and angles are supported.
• Imposition modules are supported.
• The price is hot!

A trial version is available which can be used like the full version but spreads invers logos over the PDF document.
